On Tuesday, 1st of December, alleged Fulani herdsmen, killed a palm wine tapper named Mr. Inibu, was was trying to get palm wine, and severely injuring another at Ofagbe community, Isoko North Local Government Area, Delta State,
Mr. Inibu, according to Vanguard, was killed while trying to collect palmwine in a bush along the community’s road to Ashaka, in Ndokwa East Local Government Area of the state.
the Olotu-Logbo of the Ofagbe Kingdom, Othuke Omejedo who spoke with newsmen about the incident, said:
“One woman ran to me that as she was going to the market, she met the lifeless body of a boy lying on the ground on the road leading to Ashaka. She said another one was injured.”
The Olotu-Logbo, also disclosed that while the injured person whose name was given as Mr. Thompson Ogege, was been hospitalized, the body of the deceased Mr.Inibu, has been deposited in a mortuary at Ozoro
He further said that the injured victim disclosed to them that they were accosted by the Fulani herdsmen as they were tapping their palmwine and opened fire on them in the ensuing scuffle.
He said: “We have never had any problem with the herdsmen because they have not been living in this community.”
