At least, 8 people, have been confirmed death while 9 others injured in an attack perpetrated by members of Islamist sect Boko Haram, in a Cameroonian village on Thursday, a government official said.
According to the source, the attack, was immediately attended to by security operatives, and it resulted into a fierce gun battle between members of the sect, and security operatives.
According to the prefect for the Mayo-Sava district, Babila Akaou, who commented on the overnight attack by members of the sect in the village of Doulo, at least 8 have been confirmed death, with several others injured.
"Wednesday’s attacks killed eight and wounded nine,”
Akaou, disclosed that the number of casualties of members of the sect and security forces, are yet to be ascertained.
“For security forces and Boko Haram militants, we do not yet have a death toll,” he said.
