139 people rescued from boko haram - Nigeria Army

The Nigeria army, in its onslaught against the sect book haram, has rescued another 139 people from the grasp of the sect.

Disclosing the news on Saturday, the Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Col. Sani Usman, said in a statement, that the troops of the Nigeria army, also destroyed some major camps of the insurgents in the area.

Usman, said that 62 captives of the book haram who were fleeing from the insurgents, were rescued along Bitti and Pulka. According to Usman, the Special Forces rescued another set of captives at Bama comprising 22 women 15 men and 40 children.
The Acting Army Spokesman said that the troops were still combing and destroying all known camps of the terrorists at Bama, Banki and Pulka.
He said, “The rescued people, who were looking emancipated and frail, are being attended to by the Army pending the arrival of National a Emergency Management Agency in the area.”

Col Usman, also disclosed that 8 members of the sect, surrendered to advancing soldiers of the 21 Brigade of the Nigerian Army on saturday.
